Sustainability at Green Mountain Ranch:
(LOT 3 PENDING)
Through a $5,000 credit back to buyer we encourage home owners to:
1) Plant "native plant" species- We have left trees, shrubs & ferns where possible.
Nature plants have adapted to the climate. Many of the plants stay green
year-round some provide edible fruit and survive Oregon’s dry Summers and
cold Winters.
2) Try raised bed gardens and fencing (Native deer live on the ranch)
We have oriented property lines for good southern and western sun.
3) Personal greenhouses – A great way to supplant and start your own garden.
In addition we require:
Ü Rainwater Recapture- Roof run-off can provide garden and yard water.
A 1200 Sq.Ft. roof can provide 27,000 gallons of water per year.
Ü Solar – Choose Either – Passive Solar (How you design & orient your
home to the sun) or Solar Hot Water or Solar Electric.
(Our recommended solar installer can calculate tax credits and energy
savings if you choose this option.)
